Trustwave opens Canadian Security Operations Center

News Industry NewsTrustwave has announced a new Security Operations Center (SOC) in the Kitchener-Waterloo Region in Canada to meet enterprise client needs and support the growth of Trustwave Managed Security Services. The new Security Operations Center aims to enhance Trustwave's ability to serve clients headquartered in Canada, in addition to large, multinational businesses with operations in the region.
According to industry analyst firm IDC, the market for managed security services in Canada is expected to be the strongest-growing security services market, with a five-year compound annual growth rate of 12.5%. In IDC’s Canadian IT Security Hardware, Software, Services and Cloud 2014-2018 Forecast, IDC noted: “With the growing threat landscape, IT departments are forced to allocate more of their budget to security to reduce risk. These rising costs and a shortage of security professionals in Canada make the managed security model attractive to businesses.”
Security Operations Centers are “mission control” centers through which Trustwave delivers Managed Security Services. These facilities house the infrastructure and staff necessary to deliver customer service, threat monitoring and device management to Trustwave clients. Trustwave now operates six Security Operations Centers worldwide: the Kitchener-Waterloo Region (Canada), Manila (Philippines), Warsaw (Poland), and Chicago, Denver, Minneapolis in the United States.
