Todd Milne, Director of Security Operations, Fire & Life Safety and Connect at Toronto’s University Health Network (UHN), will open the Canadian Security Honours virtual event on Oct. 7 with a keynote address on security leadership and team-building.

UHN is an integrated healthcare, research and education network of four hospitals: Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital, Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, and Toronto Rehabilitation Institute, as well as a college of applied health sciences, The Michener Institute of Education at UHN.

Milne, a security professional for more than 35 years, has led UHN’s security department for the last 18 years. He will offer his perspectives on the role that leaders play in the face of adversity — from the SARS epidemic of 2003 to the COVID-19 pandemic of today.

A significant aspect of Milne’s current position involves strategic planning, operational effectiveness and collaborating with individuals at all levels, especially senior leaders, to achieve corporate objectives.
