Reports: Security guard dead after altercation in Edmonton parkade

Edmonton Police released a statement on Tuesday that they are investigating the suspicious death of a security guard in a downtown Edmonton parkade.

According to police, officers responded at approximately 5:50 a.m. based on a report of a male suspect fighting with security. When police arrived, the guard was in medical distress. The guard was transported to a hospital and later pronounced deceased.

Homicide detectives are currently investigating the case and the suspect is still at large.

An autopsy is scheduled for Feb. 22.
