Reports: Security guard dead after altercation in Edmonton parkade

News security guardEdmonton Police released a statement on Tuesday that they are investigating the suspicious death of a security guard in a downtown Edmonton parkade.
According to police, officers responded at approximately 5:50 a.m. based on a report of a male suspect fighting with security. When police arrived, the guard was in medical distress. The guard was transported to a hospital and later pronounced deceased.
Homicide detectives are currently investigating the case and the suspect is still at large.
An autopsy is scheduled for Feb. 22.
GardaWorld told CTV News in an emailed statement that “we are deeply saddened by recent events involving one of our team members in Edmonton” and that the company is working closely with police.
