Canadian Security announces Emerging Leader Award winner for 2023

Canadian Security is pleased to announce Chris Anquist as the recipient of the Emerging Leader Award for 2023.

Anquist is regional manager of consulting & investigations for Western Canada at GardaWorld, responsible for the oversight and delivery of services including surveillance, investigations, security consulting, executive protection and major projects.

He is a board-certified protection professional, and holds a master’s degree in global security from the University of Sheffield, as well as a certificate in Leadership & Applied Public Affairs. He has also completed coursework including Crime Prevention Through Environmental Design (CPTED), incident command systems, harmonized threat vulnerability risk assessment, violence threat risk assessment, traumatic event systems, public engagement and community mediation.

Prior to entering into the security industry, Anquist worked for a boutique auditing firm focused on helping to restructure non-profit organizations. He has also worked with several elected officials in Canada including a Member of Parliament, the Minister of Indian and Northern Affairs Canada, and as a speech writer for the Mayor of the City of Surrey, B.C.

He currently serves as the ASIS International Chapter Chair for Saskatchewan and volunteers on several boards and committees. Anquist was previously acknowledged by Canadian Security with a Top 10 Under 40 award in 2022.
