The City of Toronto's corporate security department is hosting a Civic Run on Sept. 13 to raise funds for the United Way. Organizer Silvia Fraser says the run has received sponsorships from ASIS Toronto Chapter, the Canadian Security Association (CANASA) and the International Federation of Protection Officers (IFPO). The 10-km run will begin at the East York Civic Centre at 7:30 a.m. on Sept. 13 for runners, 8:30 a.m. for cyclists and conclude at Toronto City Hall.

According to the organizers:

“With a vision to build civic excellence through employee engagement, the scope of this run is to institute an annual run / walk / bike event across the City of Toronto that would have its route from Civic Centre to Civic Centre, while raising funds for the United Way. You can participate by volunteering, sponsoring a participant or joining them! For more information, please email civicrun@toronto.ca or contact Silvia Fraser sfraser3@toronto.ca 416-397-9153.”
