IAHSS celebrates Healthcare Security and Safety Week

The International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) is celebrating Healthcare Security and Safety Week (Oct. 11 – 17) with a series of initiatives designed to recognize the hard work of frontline security professionals working in a health-care environment.

According to the IAHSS website: “The theme for Healthcare Security and Safety Week 2020 ‘Heroes in Security and Safety’ recognizes the importance of security and safety in healthcare and acknowledges the strong commitment, diligence and care officers display in their practice and profession.”

IAHSS suggests that the week can be celebrated by personalizing and printing certificates of appreciation, and sharing them with team members; attending IAHSS’s “healthcare heroes” webinar on Oct. 14; and encouraging local government to recognize the week via a proclamation.
