Annual Canada 911 Ride kicks off Aug. 25

The Canada 911 Ride Foundation announced that the 18th annual fully police-escorted charity motorcycle ride will take place in Ontario on Aug. 25-27.

This year’s ride will be dedicated to the memory of the five Ontario police officers who have died in the line of duty since Sept. 12, 2022:

  • PC Andrew Hong – Toronto Police Service
  • PC Greg Pierzchala – Ontario Provincial Police
  • PC Morgan Russell – South Simcoe Police
  • PC Devon Northrup – South Simcoe Police
  • PC Travis Gillespie – York Regional Police

Day 1 – Friday, Aug. 25 – “Honger’s Rolling Thunder”

Starting Point: 9:00am from Classy Chassis Motorcycle, 1399 8th Line Smith, Lakefield, ON
Route: Up towards Haliburton and then down to Alliston.
Ending Point: Nottawasaga Inn Resort & Conference Centre, 6015 ON-89, Alliston, ON L9R 1A4, arriving at approximately 3:00 pm.

Day 2 – Saturday, Aug. 26

Starting Point: Nottawasaga Inn Resort & Conference Centre, 6015 ON-89, Alliston, ON L9R
Route: Muskoka region
Ending Point: Nottawasaga Inn Resort & Conference Centre, 6015 ON-89, Alliston, ON L9R

Day 3 – Sunday, Aug. 27

Starting Point: Nottawasaga Inn Resort & Conference Centre, 6015 ON-89, Alliston, ON L9R
Route: Into Durham Region and then York Region
Ending Point: York Regional Police Association, 63 Eric T. Smith Way in Aurora. Final tribute to Cst. Hong put on by Toronto Police Motor Squad
