Emergency Preparedness Week underway

News emergency management emergency preparedness weekThe first full week in May is traditionally Emergency Preparedness Week, a national event that has taken place for more than 25 years.
The major theme of Emergency Preparedness Week this year (May 5-11) is “Be Prepared. Know Your Risks.” According to the Government of Canada website devoted to the week, the theme is intended to “encourage Canadians to understand the risks in their area and learn what actions they can take to protect themselves and their families.”
Emergency Preparedness Week is coordinated by Public Safety Canada, in collaboration with the provinces and territories, as well as other partners. For resources, including an Emergency Preparedness Week Toolkit and Emergency Preparedness Guide, visit the government website.
