Jerry Scott
Jerry Scott is the current Chief Protective Services Officer at Alberta Health Services, with responsibility for safety and security of Canada’s largest healthcare organization. He oversees a service which includes close to 1,000 frontline staff supported by a full time Provincial Security Communication Centre, a Corporate Investigations Unit, an accredited Training and Development Program, Fire & Life Safety team and an Enterprise Security Systems Program.
Before joining Alberta Health Services in 2018, Jerry served 28 plus years in the RCMP in several Canadian provinces. At the time of his retirement, he was a member of the RCMP’s National Senior Executive Team and the Acting Criminal Operations Officer responsible for RCMP Policing Operations in Alberta.
During his policing service, Jerry led many specialized investigative programs across Canada and was responsible for leading two Provincial Homicide Programs, two Missing and Murdered Women’s Task Forces, a Federal & Serious Organized Crime Program and Financial Crime Program. He also led the largest RCMP district in Alberta where he was responsible for directing policing services in 23 communities including indigenous nations and the Edmonton International Airport.
Jerry Scott holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce from Dalhousie University, two Executive Development certificates from the University of Alberta and is a Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator.
