Keynote Address: Opportunities, obstacles and transformation for security & emergency services
Speaker: Bob Riddell, President & Founding Advisor, Riddell Risk Management
Bob Riddell is President and Founding Advisor of Riddell Risk Management Inc., an advisory practice supporting the development of strategic enterprise security & life safety risk management and governance programs.
He is also a co-owner and Chief Strategy Officer of Consilium Public Sector Services Inc., a consultancy providing strategic organizational guidance to both the public sector, including law enforcement and municipalities, as well as to the private sector. Consilium maintains an affiliate network of professionals drawn from government, public emergency services, cyber, finance, planning, and academia.
Bob brings the depth of over three decades of corporate security & life safety experience. He has served as National Director, Security & Life Safety, in the property owner/manager business sector (Cadillac Fairview and Ivanhoé Cambridge); and has held several strategic corporate security management roles in the financial sector (HSBC Bank of Canada, Canadian Bankers Association, Royal Bank of Canada).
His experience covers a diverse range of management disciplines that include strategic risk management, security & life safety policy development, privacy & compliance, occupational health & safety, financial investigations, anti-money laundering, executive/employee protection, physical security hardware, security & life safety systems, among others. Bob has developed and conducted numerous internal training sessions throughout his career, as well as given many public presentations through his association work.
From 2012 to 2022, Bob was the Founding Chair of and facilitated the Security Risk Management Advisory Council, within the Building Owners & Managers Association of Toronto (BOMA Toronto – SRMAC). He is Board Chair of theOverseas Security Advisory Council – Canada Toronto Chapter (OSAC); and is a member of both Canadian Association of Chiefs of Police (CACP); and the International Association of Chiefs of Police (IACP). Bob is an ASIS International Board Certified – Certified Protection Professional (CPP) and the Canadian representative in their Commercial Real Estate Community (CREC) steering committee. He also holds the Associate – Institute of Canadian Bankers (AICB) designation.
