MONTREAL — True Patriot Love Foundation and GardaWorld have announced the  expansion of the Veterans Transition Network program to support female veterans in Quebec.

According to GardaWorld, the program is the first of its kind in the province, and is designed to support female veterans who are struggling in their transition to civilian life and who are at a greater risk of anxiety, depression and isolation.

“At True Patriot Love Foundation, we’re committed to providing essential support and resources to Canadian military members, veterans and their families, and we’re proud to have partnered with the Veterans Transition Network since 2012,” said Bronwen Evans, CEO, True Patriot Love Foundation, in a prepared statement.

Evans continued, “We are grateful for GardaWorld’s support that will enable the expansion of the program into Quebec, which will help support the many women who need assistance with their transition to civilian life.”

VIA Rail is also a partner.

“VIA Rail applauds this initiative for women who have served so courageously. Diversity and equity underpin our efforts to recruit and promote our workforce,” said Yves Desjardins-Siciliano, president of VIA Rail Canada, in a statement.
