Trend Micro Canada’s first data centre to launch in Toronto

Trend Micro, a global cybersecurity solutions provider, announced the opening of its first Canada data centre, located in Toronto. While a number of businesses consider outsourcing complex security tasks, many are concerned about their sensitive data leaving the country.

“More than ever, Canadian organizations feel the need to keep data close to home,” said Marcia Sequeria, Canada country manager at Trend Micro, in a prepared statement. “We have already seen public sector institutions in some provinces that have voluntarily implemented data residency practices in preparation for future legislation within their region, and we’re responding to that.”

Beyond data residency practices for normal cloud providers, Trend Micro made the decision to provide Canadian organizations the option to house their security for endpoints, Office 365, G Suite, and other cloud services. Trend Micro Cloud App Security & Apex One provides visibility for clients. BEC, ransomware, and email protection all work together to provide peace of mind that organizations are protected in Canada.

Canadian customers have the option to maintain their protection for endpoints in Canada by leveraging the new localized data centre. The expansion of the company’s services comes at a time when organizations that are concerned about legislation and privacy.
