
Toronto Mayor supports swapping some cops for civilians

News Public SectorToronto Mayor John Tory says it’s time to explore using lesser-paid civilians to do some duties currently performed by uniformed Toronto police officers.
“We’ve simply got to discuss how we are using these highly trained, expensive police officers and making sure they’re being put to the best use … for real policing matters,” Tory said Thursday.
