Tyco Fire and Security has announced the release of its American Dynamics brand MegaPower Modular Scalable video matrix system. The MegaPower 3200 Video Matrix System more than doubles system capacity with support for up to 3,200 cameras, 256 monitors, and 64 keyboards and is designed to reduce the cost of ownership of large-scale security systems.

The MegaPower 3200 video matrix system now offers the benefits of both analogue and digital switching. Those looking to extend their current systems into digital video without abandoning their previous investments in analogue technology can use it.

Its IP Ethernet network connection provides for system configuration and monitoring and real-time CPU status. CPU failures, switchover status, and alarm messages can also be relayed to a specified email address. This matrix system offers true hot swappable processors, allowing failover to occur without the need to power down. The new system is compatible with the Network Client Plus gaming solution for DVMS recording review which frees operators to pause, rewind, and play forward video footage straight from the matrix switch keyboard.

Additional product enhancements include: Enhanced activity logging and alarm functions; Easy swap out of CPU modules without removing system cables; UL, cUL, and CE compliance and support for up to 30 satellite systems.
