
Security scrambles when confused driver takes wrong turn at Manitoba airport

News Transportation airportBRANDON, Man. — A security review is underway after a confused motorist drove her vehicle onto the runway at the municipal airport in Brandon, Man.
The City of Brandon says in a statement that a woman, described as elderly, was trying to get into the city last Thursday afternoon.
She was in a vehicle with British Columbia licence plates when she followed another vehicle into an area that was clearly marked as
restricted with a flashing red light and a control gate.
She drove across the taxiway before heading onto the runway, but was stopped by security and directed out of the area.
There was no incoming or outbound air traffic at the time.
The woman told staff that she was unfamiliar with the airport and had gotten lost. (CKLQ)
