The first annual Mission 500 security industry hockey classic, held Feb. 18 in Toronto, raised more than $19,000 to benefit children in need.
The event was supported and sponsored by SP&T News, Automatic Systems, Axis Communications, Hikvision, LANVAC, Mircom Group, Panasonic, Pelco by Schneider Electric and Tyco Security Products.
Four teams made up of security industry professionals took to the ice and played a series of round robin games, all in the name of sportsmanship and good fun. The tournament ended with a pizza and wings celebration, door prize giveaway and a special autograph session with NHL Hall of Famer Mike Gartner, an active supporter of Mission 500.
SP&T News would like to thank Mission 500 co-founder and volunteer George Fletcher, World Vision Canada’s Neil Parekh, Mike Gartner, and all the players and companies that supported the event. Many children will benefit as a result. Stay tuned… The hockey classic will return in 2017.
