Optical fingerprint device vendor SecuGen announces the availability of the SecuGen iD-SERIAL fingerprint reader. Digital Monitoring Products (DMP) has added the two-input 1103 universal transmitter, typically used in commercial burglary door/window applications, to its line of wireless devices. This transmitter has earned the UL Commercial Burglary Listing. It includes an internal magnetic reed switch, an on-board terminal block for external contact wiring, and an end-of-line resistor. Both the internal and external contacts can be programmed to operate simultaneously, yielding two independent zones from one transmitter.
Silent Knight, part of Honeywell, has announced its new IFP-2000 scalable intelligent analogue-addressable fire alarm control panel (FACP). The panel aims to reduce false alarms through individual point identification, drift compensation and maintenance alerts. It can use existing wiring, cover up to 636 points per panel and has a wide range of IDP detectors and modules connected to the circuit. Scent Detection Technologies has released the MN1000B dual mode explosives and narcotics trace detection system. The system is based on high-frequency quartz crystal microbalance technology, and consists of a hand-held sampling unit and compact analyzer. It can be integrated with existing security checkpoints without infrastructure modifications. Suggested uses include customs, prisons, coast guards, border control agencies and federal agents who need to detect illicit substances.Scent Detection Technologies
