Paladin Security Group Ltd. has been requalified as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies in 2014 for excellence in business performance. Sponsored by Deloitte, CIBC, National Post, Queen’s School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums, the Best Managed award recognizes Canadian owned and managed companies with revenues over $10 million for sustained growth, financial performance, management practices and the efforts of the entire organization.

“I would like to congratulate Paladin Security and its entire workforce. Achieving this standard of excellence takes a united effort from a dedicated team. Today’s market place is not just about financial performance; it is also about the investment in the people. Paladin Security invests in their team to build up a strong and stable company. Best Managed companies are home grown companies making smart investments to achieve above average returns,” said Peter Brown, National Co-Leader of Canada’s Best Managed Companies Program and Senior Practice Partner, Deloitte.

“CIBC congratulates the 2014 Canada’s Best Managed Companies winners for this remarkable achievement, which is a reflection of strong leadership, sound business planning and sustained growth,” added Jon Hountalas, Executive Vice-President, Business Banking, CIBC. “We’re proud to recognize their contributions to the Canadian marketplace.”

Established in 1993, the Canada’s Best Managed Companies is a national awards program, recognizing Canadian companies that have implemented world-class business practices and created value in innovative ways. Applications are reviewed by an independent judging panel that evaluates how companies address various business challenges, including new technologies, globalization, brand management, leadership, leveraging and developing core competencies, designing information systems, and hiring the right talent to facilitate growth.

Paladin Security’s CFO Ted Reid commented; “Requalifying as a Best Managed Company for the third consecutive year is a unique distinction as it recognizes our progression in all key aspects of Paladin Security’s business; including our strategic plan, our capability, our commitment and our overall financial performance, including financial stability.

“If our strategy is our objective, our commitment to our goals is what sets us apart in the marketplace. Furthermore, we are constantly assessing our capability to improve customer experiences such that our strategy is ever-changing.

“We focus on the advancement of our team members through investments like our Junior Management Training Programs and Enhanced Management Training Programs. In order to consistently instill our values, we develop our leaders internally through the University of Paladin despite the significant cost.  Last year, we spent over $3 million in training our people at all levels of the organization.”

Paladin Security CEO Ashley Cooper added; “We are all very pleased to continue to be recognized as a Best Managed Company in Canada. It speaks to our strong corporate culture here at Paladin, and our belief in constant and never-ending improvement in everything that we do. Our people have worked very hard to sustain our leadership position in our industry and there is no better way for us to signify this than the Best Managed Companies award.”

2014 winners of the Canada’s Best Managed Companies award, along with the Gold Standard winners, Requalified and Platinum Club members will be honoured at the annual Canada’s Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on March 31, 2015. On the same date, the symposium will address leading-edge business issues that are key to the success of today’s business leaders.
