Paladin Security Group announced it has acquired KC Security Services, based in Victoria, B.C.

According to an announcement posted on the company’s website, the deal closed Feb. 1., and is the second acquisition by the company’s Vancouver Island operation in the last 12 months. The company says the acquisition fits with its strategy of growing its mobile operations and will add 84 hours of additional mobile security coverage to its existing portfolio.

“We are very proud of completing the acquisition of KC Security Services, which bolsters our position in the Victoria marketplace,” said Shane Wright, Director of Vancouver Island Operations, in a statement posted on the company’s blog. “More important than increasing our sheer size, volume of work, and capabilities, our greatest benefit is the additional business partnerships which will deepen Paladin’s strong connections with the business community in Greater Victoria. As well, we are increasing the number of higher paying security positions within our Victoria branch through an increased Victoria mobile department. It is an exciting situation to be providing both our clients and our people with greater long-term opportunities.”

According to Paladin, the company now operates in Vancouver Island with more than 200 security professionals. Paladin also announced additions to its integration business in February: the acquisition of Edmonton-based Contava and Ottawa-based Marcomm Systems Group Inc. (MSGI).
