New security measures at Ottawa courthouse

News Public SectorAccording to an article published earlier this week in the Ottawa Citizen, new security measures have come into effect at the Ottawa Courthouse, including new police powers, converting two entrances to emergency exits, and the installation of X-ray machines and metal detectors.
“Bill 35, the controversial Security for Courts, Electricity Generating Facilities and Nuclear Facilities Act, was proclaimed into law on June 24 at the provincial level and will grant power to police officers as well as additional infrastructure,” states the article.
