The International Association for Healthcare Security & Safety (IAHSS) now offers an updated 2016 Certified Healthcare Protection Administrator (CHPA) Certification Examination and a new Basic Certification Examination.
As well, the organization has released the sixth edition of the Basic Training Manual for Healthcare Security Officers.
IAHSS says members enthusiastically embraced the announcement of the new certification exams and have stated their intentions to use the new study material and to test their officers, managers and directors later this year.
The revision of the exam reflects the newest editions of the study materials, including Tony York and Don MacAlister’s Healthcare and Hospital Security 6th Edition, the 2015 IAHSS Healthcare Security Industry Guidelines, and additional study materials focused on emergency management and safety.
The CHPA is intended for management level healthcare security professionals, and only applicants with appropriate qualifications of education, experience and training are approved to take the exam.
