Police say a suspect who was caught by security guards during a Manitoba restaurant break-in used whatever he could find to try to escape, including a fire extinguisher.

Investigators say two teens were caught in the restaurant early Sunday morning, and that one of them fled.

Police say the one that remained grabbed a fire extinguisher and emptied it in the direction of the guards.

When police got there, he allegedly splashed officers with a corrosive cleaning fluid.

Police arrested the teen and found the one that allegedly escaped.
