
Lockdown exercise exposed problems

News Public Sector lockdown security protocolsA lockdown exercise in an Ottawa office building housing federal agencies exposed some problems with employee behaviour, according to an internal report on the March 30 exercise.
CBC News obtained the final report on the “Pilot Lockdown Exercise” led by Industry Canada, which also involved staff from the House of Commons, the auditor general, the Canadian Space Agency, Shared Services Canada, and a tribunals support agency.
It was billed as the first-ever lockdown exercise involving ordinary office workers. The report noted problems with employees talking during the exercise, cellphones ringing and hiding spots that were too visible.
