Justin Ferns, Iron Horse Security

Ottawa-based Iron Horse Security announced the appointment of Justin Ferns as its new CEO.

Ferns began his career at Iron Horse Security as a security guard while pursuing a degree in criminology at Carleton University. Over the years, he has held multiple roles at the organization, including chief operations officer. “His journey from the ground up has equipped him with a unique perspective on all aspects of the business, making him the ideal leader to steer Iron Horse Security into its next chapter,” said the company in a statement.

“I am both honoured and excited to take on the role of CEO at Iron Horse Security, a company I have grown with and deeply respect,” said Ferns. “I look forward to building on our strong foundation of high-quality service and expanding our reach throughout Canada. Our focus will remain on revitalizing and rejuvenating contract security management, ensuring we consistently meet and exceed our clients’ expectations.”

Iron Horse Security was founded in Ottawa in 1994 and currently employs a staff of more than 1,400. The company’s services include security guards, mobile patrol and concierge.
