iON acquires Wirefire

Calgary cybersecurity company, iON United Inc. has announced the acquisition of Vancouver-based Wirefire on May 3.

Alon Goldberg, former Chief Technology Officer (CTO) of WireFire, will join iON as the new Field CTO. As iON continues to expand into new markets, the combined company is looking to hire for a number of positions in its sales, marketing and technical departments.

“We are thrilled to officially announce the acquisition of Wirefire, as this marks incredible progress for Canada’s cybersecurity industry,” said Robert Zagorsky, iON’s president and founder in a prepared statement. “This will allow us to immediately introduce our combined services to each other’s customers, further protecting the brands you know.”

Wirefire’s CEO, Craig Chomat, and president, David Wood, will be moving on to new opportunities once the acquisition is complete.

“Wirefire Solutions has spent years establishing trust and quality with a diverse set of industrial and commercial enterprise companies in British Columbia and across Canada,” said David Wood, President of Wirefire. “We are confident that iON will spark a new chapter in cybersecurity solutions, as businesses of all sizes continue to have an increased reliance on technology.”

The companies will operate independently over the coming months, however the strengths and value of the combined organization will be taken to market immediately.
