The International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) has partnered with ASIS International to promote activities amongst their respective memberships.

According to a news release, IAHSS will provide training and exams for its CHPA certification prior to ASIS’s upcoming seminar and exhibits, held Sept. 24-27 at the McCormick Place in Chicago. IAHSS will also host a booth at the event. “We recognize that we already have members in common, and this is an effective way to provide greater vertical depth for those interested in this specialty,” says ASIS president Geoffrey T. Craighead. He added that IAHSS will work with ASIS’s Healthcare council to develop and co-sponsor health-related education sessions at the ASIS event in Chicago, which is expected to draw more than 20,000 security professionals.

IAHSS executive director Evelyn Meserve says, “This partnership is a win-win for both memberships. It shows we’re being recognized as the leading source for healthcare security and are being given the opportunity to make ASIS members aware of what we have to offer.”
