IAHSS foundation recognizes achievements in healthcare security

Features Health Care health care iahss paladinChicago, Ill. – The International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety Foundation, the philanthropic arm of the International Association for Healthcare Security and Safety (IAHSS), held its Annual Recognition Banquet at the 2019 IAHSS 51st Annual Conference & Exhibition in Orlando, Fla. in May.
Awards were presented to healthcare security professionals and organizations for their contributions to the healthcare security industry, and two Canadian professionals were honoured.
IAHSS says the Medal of Merit is presented to individuals who distinguish themselves in the performance of duty by an act of personal fortitude above and beyond the call of duty not taken at the risk of their own life. The 2019 Medals of Merit was presented to Paladin Security Group officers Brianne Fung and David Ellis, both out of Richmond General Hospital, Richmond, B.C.
Officer Miguel “Mike” Zendejas from Martin Luther King Jr. Community Hospital in Los Angeles also received the Medal of Merit.
Also at the awards ceremony, the Lindberg Bell Outstanding Facility, presented to a facility which has established and administers an outstanding healthcare security and/or safety program, was presented to AdventHealth in Orlando, Fla.
The IAHSS and its foundation say they are proud to honor the exceptional efforts of these individuals and organizations who have exemplified the highest standards in the healthcare security profession.
