HID Global announced that its iCLASS SE family of products has been selected by the ASIS International organization as a winner of the 2011 ASIS Accolades — Security’s Best competition. Judges representing a cross-sector of end-users and technology experts evaluated more than 70 entries before selecting HID Global’s next generation iCLASS SE platform as one of the most innovative new solutions for 2011.

“HID Global is very proud to have our groundbreaking iCLASS SE access control platform recognized by one of the most respected organizations in the security industry,” said Tony Ball, senior vice president of Identity Access Management with HID Global.

HID Global says the technology is a milestone in how secure identity is delivered and managed by introducing technology-independent digital credentials that can be deployed for use on smart phones, microprocessor-based cards, contactless smart cards, USB tokens and related devices.

The platform includes credentials and readers based on a combination of Secure Identity Object (SIO) technology on the credential side and the SIO Processor on the reader side that perform similar functions to traditional cards and readers, except they use a standards-based and flexible identity data model.
