
Halifax Water pays for $2M in security during labour disruption

News Public SectorThe CBC reports that it has obtained a detailed breakdown of the security costs associated with an almost two-month labour disruption.
The article quotes a spokesperson for the utility, saying: “It’s a big system, it’s a lot of infrastructure and so those costs are high. “It’s reasonable when you consider it provided security for the water system — a very, very large water system — for about a third of the population of this province as well as wastewater treatment facilities.”
