Don MacAlister named 2010 Security Director of the Year

NewsDon MacAlister, Executive Director of Integrated Protection Services for Fraser Health in Langley, B.C. has been named the 2010 Security Director of the Year.ӬӬA unanimous choice for the Canadian Security editorial advisory board, MacAlister manages an extensive portfolio that includes four regional health-care authorities in British Columbia.
He has been with Fraser Health for 24 years — 22 years as Director of
Protection Services. ”¨”¨Currently migrating the health authority’s
existing CCTV systems to an IP platform, within the last year he has
led an initiative where security, parking, photo ID, electronic
security systems and other security systems have been consolidated
under one model. ӬӬMacAlister has responsibility for managing a budget
approaching $50 million.ӬӬSponsored by Anixter Canada, the Canadian
Security Director of the Year is in its fifth year. The winner will be
honoured at a dinner held in Toronto this October.
