Denver airport first to use new TSA full body scanner

The Colorado Sun reports airport CEO Kim Day says the Denver airport is the first in the country to pilot the technology.
The new scanner uses the same basic process as the old ones. But TSA federal security director Larry Nau says what might seem like a nominal change — keeping your hands at your side as opposed to raising them in the air — can save a lot of time.
TSA in September introduced automated screening lanes at the airport aimed at speeding up the pace of bins carrying passenger items through screening.
The goal is to have the new technology in place when the airport’s US$1.8 billion Great Hall renovation is completed.
