Top Glass 2018 Call for Papers

Top Glass is inviting submissions for educational presentations. 1. Presenters should be an acknowledged expert in the topic area, able to elaborate on the presentation in response to questions from attendees.
2. Presentations must be generic and educational, free of promotions of any particular company or product. The presenter’s company may be mentioned briefly as background information.
3. The topic material must be of interest to professionals in the commercial glass building industry, including architects, building engineers, glazing contractors, glass fabricators and/or glaziers/installers.
4. All material must be the original intellectual property of the presenter or used with permission of the original source.
5. Use of video in support materials is acceptable, but should be restricted to a small portion of the overall presentation time.
6. Exclusive presentations not previously offered elsewhere are strongly preferred. At least some of the material should be new.
7. Presentations must adhere to a high level of technical sophistication and accuracy.
8. Presentations qualifying attendees for continuing education credits from a recognized industry authority (eg. AIA, OAA) are strongly preferred.
9. Presentation support materials must be shared in advance with Top Glass organizers for review.

Submission deadline is Oct. 31, 2017.

Silvia Fraser is currently the head of security for the City of Mississauga. Prior to that, she served in a variety of roles for the City of Toronto, including managing the Tower & Neighbourhood Revitalization Unit, where she helped improve the quality of life for over 500,000 residents.She has also led the City of Toronto’s Corporate Security Infrastructure. Silvia immigrated to Canada in 1995 and started working for the City of Toronto in 2001 as a security guard. Michael Brzozowski is Risk and Compliance Manager with Symcor, a financial processing service provider working with some of Canada's largest banks, and institutional clients. Michael is also closely associated with ASIS International, particularly the Toronto chapter where he has served in a variety of capacities, including vice-chair. Michael is also co-chair of ASIS International's Young Professionals (YP) Council and recently spearheaded an initiative to create a new ASIS certification closely to related its well-respected Certified Protection Professional (CPP) which would allow young professionals to achieve a security designation earlier in their careers.
