
Calls for G4S suitors to offer more info

News allied universal G4S GardaWorldAccording to an article that was published on the Financial Times website over the weekend, there have been calls from U.S. state officials and unions for greater scrutiny into the potential acquisition of G4S by the two companies vying for it — Allied Universal and GardaWorld — along with their private equity backers. Those quoted in the story, including Michael Frerichs, state treasurer of Illinois, and Tobias Read, the state treasurer for Oregon, suggest that the stakes are high for the hundreds of thousands of employees that would be affected by the outcome of an acquisition and more transparency is required.
Read said he wanted to “learn more about how the companies will handle complicated questions.”
