Bosch Security Systems Inc. has released the ZX55 Infrared Imager, a long-range camera that provides a powerful night imaging solution for critical outdoor surveillance applications. Available in IP and analogue, the camera captures detailed scenes up to 1,000 feet (300 meters) in total darkness, making it ideal for perimeter surveillance, critical asset monitoring or force protection applications.

Advanced optics provide users the ability to monitor long stretches of perimeter with a wide-angle field of view or to narrow the scene to a particular asset or section of perimeter. Using Black Diamond infrared illumination technology and a 9-90 mm varifocal, IR-corrected lens, the ZX55 captures the details needed to distinguish facial features at distances of up to 350 feet (110 meters). The camera delivers full Detection, Classification, Recognition and Identification (DCRI) capabilities, meeting the highest level of performance for nighttime surveillance.

Bosch’s on-board video content analysis, an available option for the ZX55-IP, can detect behaviours, such as loitering, tripwire, object removed and idle object, to aid camera operators in monitoring an area. Black Diamond technology optimizes video analytics performance by decreasing image noise using evenly distributed infrared in the scene, eliminating hotspot foregrounds and underexposed backgrounds.

H.264 compression is available for the ZX55-IP with a free firmware upgrade.

The rugged ZX55 employs a field-proven, weather-sealed housing for use in a variety of environments.
