Bosch Security Systems Inc. has added a day/night IP camera with integrated infrared illumination to its IP Camera 200 Series.

With excellent image quality and accurate colour reproduction, the new progressive scan camera keeps moving objects sharply in focus. The built-in active infrared illuminator activates automatically when the scene is dark for effective night vision.

The IP Dome 225 IR is a complete network video surveillance system in a compact, discreet, indoor dome. Plug in the IP Dome 225 IR camera and video can be recorded immediately using the included Secure Digital (SD) flash memory card. No additional equipment is required. Customers can also easily extend storage capabilities by connecting a video recorder, such as the Bosch Divar 700 Series, or an iSCSI server. The camera offers efficient H.264 image compression to reduce the requirements for storage by up to 30 per cent compared to traditional surveillance technology, an important cost-saving feature.

The included Bosch Video Client software allows customers to remotely view recorded video from up to 16 day/night, high definition or standard definition color cameras on a single PC monitor. The software makes it easy to display camera streams, archive video and locate specific events quickly using its Smart Search feature.

The camera provides built-in motion, tamper and audio detection that can trigger an action, such as setting off an alarm or increasing recording quality to capture more details in a scene. The two-way audio capability allows operators to communicate with visitors, employees or intruders via the camera.

Fully conformant with the Open Network Video Interface Forum (ONVIF) standard, the 200 Series infrared camera offers compatibility with other ONVIF surveillance products. This helps users save on future upgrade or migration costs.
