Babies at Trois-Rivières hospital get electronic bracelets

Infants born at the Centre Hospitalier Régional de Trois-Rivières will be fitted with electronic bracelets in the future, a first in Quebec according to the hospital.

“There are bracelets for non-autonomous adults, but it is our understanding this is the first program for newborns,” said hospital spokesperson Audrey-Ann Milot.

The announcement by the hospital Tuesday morning comes three weeks after a 16-hour-old baby was kidnapped from the hospital’s maternity ward by a woman dressed as a nurse.
