Costs of growth cuts into Garda World's 2012 profit but revenue up 9.3 per cent
Garda World Security Corp. says its annual revenue was up 9.3 per cent last year, but its profit fell due to costs associated with its growth initiatives.

3VR's CrimeDex to collaborate with Wireless Loss Prevention Council to reduce retail crime
3VR, a video intelligence company, has announced that the CrimeDex online collaborative network of more than 3,000 fraud, loss prevention and law enforcement professionals has partnered with the Wireless Loss Prevention Council (WLPC), a network of retail wireless loss prevention professionals, to share information related to organized retail crime syndicates and serial retail criminals.

The AFI-2089 Virtual Keyboard connects via a local communication port or TCP/IP via RFC2217 protocol.

Reed sensors
MEDER electronic Inc. announced its 3-dimensional magnetic mapping capabilities for reed sensors. This process allows designers to more accurately place sensors and magnetic components within a system.

The Reve condominium tower in downtown Toronto has adopted a "virtual concierge" service using Cisco technology. The virtual concierge performs the same security functions as a live person would at the lobby desk: they can view and speak with visitors in the lobby via video screens, grant access into the building and will even be able to manage parcel deliveries through remote access.
