Coming Up: Canadian Security Sept/Oct 2010
Cover story: Condominium security: Much of the success of condo security is relationships — finding the right mix of personalities that work with the property manager, condo board and residents. We talk to three property managers about their experiences and to the G4S Greater Toronto Area condo division about what makes for a successful partnership.
Access control feature: The Canadian Museum of Nature in Ottawa. The 100-year old stone "castle" which houses many archaeological treasures recently underwent a significant facelift recently including a major security overhaul including access control/intrusion detection/CCTV systems. We look at the details of the project and the work done all while the museum remained operational and open to the public.
Retail focus: Retailers continue to lose billions to employee theft and shoplifting, but an ADT study reveals that last year the total dollar amount lost went down, thanks in part to increased use of networked security tools including video surveillance. We look at what is working for Canadian Retailers and how they are battling what remains the biggest problem — loss due to internal theft.
