TORONTO — A 54-year-old man is accused of stealing from patients and visitors at the neonatal unit of a Toronto hospital.
Police say a well-dressed man situated himself outside the neonatal intensive care unit at Mount Sinai Hospital in Toronto in January.

It’s alleged he went through coats and pockets, and stole wallets and other valuables as people left the waiting room.

Investigators say Douglas Stephen Smith was arrested on Nov. 27 and is now charged with theft.

Police have released a security camera image of Smith and say they believe there may be other alleged victims, possibly at other hospitals.
