  The security industry came together on Oct. 19 to honour Canadian Security's Security Director of the Year, Thomas Gerstenecker, for his contributions to the United Nations' UNOPS. A Canadian overseas, Gerstenecker was stationed on Copenhagen, Denmark, and has since accepted a new position at UN headquarters in New York City. Unfortunately, Gerstenecker was unable to attend the awards dinner, sponsored by Anixter Canada, and accepted the award via video.
