Written by Neil Sutton, on Mon-June-2009

Napco’s recently debuted user-friendly coded keypad GEM-K1VPS has been designed to eliminate time-consuming wiring homeruns. The product features a UL dual tone 88db burglary/fire alarm siren, built-in wide-angle 25-foot Pet PIR and talking voice prompts with adjustable volume, as well as digital user-codes, smart custom alpha displays and an on-board four-zone expansion module.

The keypad also features oversized backlit keys with smart auto sensing dim mode on the custom alphanumeric LCD. When it senses the presence of the user, the keypad will automatically brighten up the LCD; when no movement is detected, such as at night or in an empty room, the screen auto-dims.
Other features include log viewing, an optional temperature display, and programmable panic, ambush and chime functions.]

It supports 64 (three- to six-digit) user codes and is compatible with GEM-P1664 8 to 64 zone partitionable hybrid control panel.
