“As executive director, I look forward to developing best practices that will help Commissionaires refine national and regional roles, grow the organization, and achieve common goals,” he said.
 
In his Ottawa-based role, Briscoe will be responsible for leading the Commissionaires national business strategy and supporting its 17 member divisions. Reporting to the Business Management Committee (BMC), he will also build relationships with decision-makers within the Federal Government and national commercial clients.

Prior to joining Commissionaires, Briscoe worked as an independent consultant on various national security contracts for the Department of National Defence, and the Federal Emergency Preparedness organizations.  In his career as a senior officer in the Canadian Forces, Briscoe’s experience includes roles as Chief of Staff for the Multinational Division in Bosnia, Military Attaché in Washington D.C., Base Commander for CFBMontreal, Deputy Chief of Staff for Canadian Army Personnel, and commander of a unit which focused on arctic sovereignty operations.  His expertise also includes policy formulation, implementing organizational decisions, infrastructure management, budgeting, public relations, and human resources.
 
 
Doug counts his work as a volunteer as among the most rewarding of his career.  His deep respect for members of Canada’s military is the driving force behind his association with The Last Post Fund, which helps to ensure a fitting burial for all Canadian servicemen and women.  Doug is also the National Director of the Royal Canadian Artillery Heritage Campaign, and in the past has volunteered his time with the United Way, Montreal Poppy Fund and the CFB Petawawa School Board.
