Carol Osler, senior vice-president of global security and investigations for TD Bank Group, has been named the winner of the 2012 Security Director of the Year award, sponsored by Anixter Canada, by Canadian Security magazine’s editorial advisory board.
The security industry came together on Oct. 19 to honour Canadian Security's Security Director of the Year, Thomas Gerstenecker, for his contributions to the United Nations' UNOPS. A Canadian overseas, Gerstenecker was stationed on Copenhagen, Denmark, and has since accepted a new position at UN headquarters in New York City. Unfortunately, Gerstenecker was unable to attend the awards dinner, sponsored by Anixter Canada, and accepted the award via video.
Established in 1852 in Quebec City, Université Laval was the first French-speaking university in North America. In 1950, construction began on its main campus in Sainte-Foy, which was then on the outskirts of the city. It has grown into what is now referred to as a city within a city.

After 20 years, David Hyde is leaving Cadillac Fairview, just as the organization is about to undergo a re-organization.For the last six years Hyde was Director of Security for the organization at its head office in Toronto. He says he is leaving the company to pursue other professional interests effective Feb. 26.
