Police say the stabbing happened at about 2:30 a.m. after two groups of men got into a fight.

While police were tending to that crime scene, other officers were called to a shooting in Toronto's Harbourfront area.

A security guard in a condo building was shot at about 3 a.m. after he tried to stop a man armed with a gun.

The gunman fled with some other people, but one of them broke away from the group and raced off on a motorcycle, which then crashed.

Both the guard and the suspect are in hospital recovering from their injuries as police seeking additional suspects.
