The International Association for Healthcare Safety and Security (IAHSS) has partnered with ASIS International to promote activities amongst their respective memberships.
ASIS International and Building Industry Consulting Service International (BICSI) have signed a memorandum of understanding “to foster the growth of the security and information technology systems industries.”
The Toronto chapter of ASIS International is once again offering its Student Scholarship Program. Benefits include: recognition of academic work, financial awards, exposure to senior security professionals and the possibility of having an article (written by the winner of the writing competition) digitally published by Canadian Security magazine.
According to data recently released by VidSys, a provider of physical security information management (PSIM) software, insufficient funding continues to be the most significant organizational and technological obstacle for security departments.
The ASIS Toronto chapter has made some change to its annual student scholarship program for 2013, including an increase in value to security studies entrance scholarships and the addition of a second bursary. The scholarship program has been recognized as a best practice by the ASIS Foundation for its inclusiveness, accessibility and academic leadership required by students.
